Introduction JoyRide Cars, Inc. (“Non-Profit” or “We“) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes:
  • The types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you download, install, register with, access, or use the JoyRide Cars, Inc. mobile application (the “App“).
  • Our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
This policy applies only to information we collect in this App and in email, text, and other electronic communications sent through or in connection with this App. This policy DOES NOT apply to information that:
  • We collect offline or on any other Non-Profit apps or websites, including websites you may access through this App.
  • You provide to or is collected by any third party (see Third-Party Information Collection).
Our websites and apps, and these other third parties may have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read before providing information on or through them. Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not download, register with, or use this App. By downloading, registering with, or using this App, you agree to this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of this App after we revise this policy means you accept those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates. Information We Collect and How We Collect It We collect information from and about users of our App:
  • Directly from you when you provide it to us.
  • Automatically when you use the App.
Information You Provide to Us  When you download, register with, or use this App, we may ask you provide information:
  • By which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, email address, telephone number, credit card information or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline (“personal information“).
  • That is about you but individually does not identify you.
This information includes:
  • Information that you provide by filling in forms in the App. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use the App and subscribing to our service. We may also ask you for information when you request services through the App or when you report a problem with the App.
  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses and phone numbers), if you contact us.
  • Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes.
  • Your search queries on the App.
You may also provide information for publication or display (“Posted“) on public areas of the App or websites you access through the App (collectively, “User Contributions“). Your User Contributions are Posted and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although you may set certain privacy settings for such information by logging into your account profile, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of third parties with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. Automatic Information Collection and Tracking   When you download, access, and use the App, it may use technology to automatically collect:
  • Usage Details. When you access and use the App, we may automatically collect certain details of your access to and use of the App, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on or through the App.
  • Device Information. We may collect information about your mobile device and internet connection, including the device’s unique device identifier, IP address, operating system, browser type, mobile network information, and the device’s telephone number.
  • Stored Information and Files. The App also may access metadata and other information associated with other files stored on your device. This may include, for example, photographs, audio and video clips, personal contacts, and address book information.
  • Location Information. This App collects real-time information about the location of your device. If you do not want us to collect this information do not download the App or delete it from your device or you may opt out at any time. Note, however, that opting out of the App’s collection of location information will disable its location-based features.
We also may use these technologies to collect information about your activities over time and across third-party websites, apps, or other online services. Information Collection and Tracking Technologies The technologies we use for automatic information collection may include:
  • Cookies (or mobile cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on your smartphone. It may be possible to refuse to accept mobile cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your smartphone. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our App.
  • Web Beacons. Pages of the App and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Non-Profit, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related app statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain App content and verifying system and server integrity).
  Third-Party Information Collection When you use the App or its content, certain third parties may use automatic information collection technologies to collect information about you or your device. These third parties may include:
  • Advertisers, ad networks, and ad servers.
  • Analytics companies.
  • Your mobile device manufacturer.
  • Your mobile service provider.
  These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use this App. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites, apps, and other online services websites. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based advertising or other targeted content. We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. For information about how you can opt out of receiving targeted advertising from many providers, see “Your Choices About Our Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Your Information.” How We Use Your Information We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information, to:
  • Provide you with the App and its contents, and any other information, or services that you request from us.
  • Fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it.
  • Give you notices about your account.
  • Carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
  • Notify you when App updates are available, and of changes to any services we offer or provide though it.
The usage information we collect helps us to improve our App and to deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to:
  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize our App according to your individual interests.
  • Speed up your searches.
  • Recognize you when you use the App.
We use location information we collect to match you with and identify services available in your local area. We may also use your information to contact you about our own and third parties’ services that may be of interest to you. If you do not want us to use your information in this way, please adjust your user preferences in your account profile. For more information, see “Your Choices About Our Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Your Information.” We may use the information we collect to display advertisements to our advertisers’ target audiences. Even though we do not disclose your personal information for these purposes without your consent, if you click on or otherwise interact with an advertisement, the advertiser may assume that you meet its target criteria. Disclosure of Your Information We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual or device, without restriction. In addition, we may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide:
  • To our subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our Non-Profit and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Non-Profit’s assets, in which personal information held by Non-Profit about our App users is among the assets transferred.
  • To third parties to market their products or services to you if you have consented to/not opted out of these disclosures.
  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
  • With your consent.
  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • To enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Non-Profit, our customers or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
Your Choices About Our Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Your Information We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. This section describes mechanisms we provide for you to control certain uses and disclosures of over your information.
  • Tracking Technologies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies or block the use of other tracking technologies, some parts of the App may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
  • Location Information. You can choose whether or not to allow the App to collect and use real-time information about your device’s location through the device’s privacy settings. If you block the use of location information, some parts of the App may become inaccessible or not function properly.
  • Promotion by the Non-Profit. If you do not want us to use your email address and/or contact information to promote our own or third parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by logging into the App and adjusting your user preferences in your account profile by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes or by sending us an email stating your request to info@joyridecars.org.
  • Targeted Advertising by the Non-Profit. If you do not want us to use information that we collect or that you provide to us to deliver advertisements according to our advertisers’ target-audience preferences, you can opt-out by logging into the App and adjusting your user preferences in your account profile by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes or by sending us an email stating your request to info@joyridecars.org.
  • Disclosure of Your Information for Third-Party Advertising and Marketing. If you do not want us to share your personal information with unaffiliated or non-agent third parties for advertising and marketing purposes, you can opt-out by adjusting your user preferences in your account profile by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes or by sending us an email stating your request to ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­info@joyridecars.org.
We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI“) on the NAI’s website. California residents may have additional personal information rights and choices. Please see “Your California Privacy Rights” for more information. Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information You can review and change your personal information by logging into the App and visiting your account profile page. You may also send us an email at info@joyridecars.org to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. Please be aware, we may not be able to delete your personal information without also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect. California residents may have additional personal information rights and choices. Please see “Your California Privacy Rights” for more information. Your California Privacy Rights Your Rights and Choices This section supplements the information contained in the Non-Profit’s general Privacy Policy and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California. We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this section. The CCPA provides California residents with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights. For an explanation of the personal information we collect, please see “Information We Collect and How We Collect It” section of the general Privacy Policy. For an explanation of how we use your personal information, please see the “How We Use Your Information” section of the general Privacy Policy. Right to Know and Data Portability You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information (the “right to know”). Once we receive your request and confirm your identity (see “Exercising Your Rights to Know or Delete”), we will disclose to you:
  • The categories of personal information we collected about you.
  • The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
  • Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that personal information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
  • If we sold or disclosed your personal information for a business purpose, two separate lists disclosing:
    • sales, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient purchased; and
    • disclosures for a business purpose, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient obtained.
  • The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you (also called a data portability request).
  Right to Delete You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions (the “right to delete”). Once we receive your request and confirm your identity (see “Exercising Your Rights to Know or Delete”), we will review your request to see if an exception allowing us to retain the information applies. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service provider(s) to:
  1. Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform our contract with you.
  2. Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities.
  3. Debug services to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
  4. Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights, or exercise another right provided for by law.
  5. Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 1546 seq.).
  6. Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when the information’s deletion may likely render impossible or seriously impair the research’s achievement, if you previously provided informed consent.
  7. Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations based on your relationship with us.
  8. Comply with a legal obligation.
  9. Make other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.
We will delete or deidentify personal information not subject to one of these exceptions from our records and will direct our service providers to take similar action.   Exercising Your Rights to Know or Delete To exercise your rights to know or delete described above, please submit a request by email at:­­­­­­­­­­­­­ info@joyridecars.org. Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a request to know or delete related to your personal information. You may also make a request to know or delete on behalf of your child. Your request to know or delete must:
  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.
We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. We will only use personal information provided in the request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make it. Other California Privacy Rights California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our App that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an email to: ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­info@joyridecars.org.   Data Security We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment transactions will be encrypted. The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our App, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the App. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through our App. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide. Children Under the Age of 13 The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its rules (collectively, “COPPA”) require us to inform parents and legal guardians (as used in this section, “parents”) about our practices for collecting, using, and disclosing personal information from children under the age of 13 (“children”). It also requires us to obtain verifiable consent from a child’s parent for certain collection, use, and disclosure of the child’s personal information. This section notifies parents of:
  • The types of information we may collect from children.
  • How we use the information we collect.
  • Our practices for disclosing that information.
  • Our practices for notifying and obtaining parents’ consent when we collect personal information from children, including how a parent may revoke consent.
  • All operators that collect or maintain information from children through this App.
This section only applies to children under the age of 13 and supplements the other provisions of this Privacy Policy. Terms that are defined in the general privacy policy have the same meanings as used in this Privacy Policy for Children Under the Age of 13. Information We Collect from Children Children can access many parts of the App and its content and use many of its features without providing us with personal information. However, some content and features are available only to registered users or require us to collect certain information, including personal information, from them. In addition, we use certain technologies, such as cookies, to automatically collect information from our users (including children) when they visit or use the App. We only collect as much information about a child as is reasonably necessary for the child to participate in an activity, and we do not condition his or her participation on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary. Information We Collect Directly A child must provide us with the following information to register with this App: the child’s name, birth date, and a parent’s email address. We also require the child to create a member name and password. We may request additional information from your child, but this information is optional. We specify whether information is required or optional when we request it. Automatic Information Collection and Tracking We use technology to automatically collect information from our users, including children, when they access and navigate through the App and use certain of its features. The information we collect through these technologies may include:
  • One or more persistent identifiers that can be used to recognize a user over time.
  • Information that identifies a device’s location (geolocation information).
We also may combine non-personal information we collect through these technologies with personal information about you or your child that we collect online. For information about our automatic information collection practices, including how you can opt out of certain information collection, see the “Automatic Information Collection and Tracking” section of our general Privacy Policy.   How We Use Your Child’s Information We use the personal information we collect from your child to:
  • Register him or her with the App;
  • Communicate with him or her about activities or features of the App that may be of interest.
We use the information we collect automatically through technology (see “Automatic Information Collection and Tracking”) and other non-personal information we collect to improve our App and to deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to:
  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Store information about the child’s preferences, allowing us to customize the content according to individual interests.
  • Speed up your searches.
We use location information we collect to match you with and identify services available in your local area. Our Practices for Disclosing Children’s Information We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer children’s personal information other than as described in this section. We may disclose aggregated information about many of our users and information that does not identify any individual or device. In addition, we may disclose children’s personal information:
  • To third parties we use to support the internal operations of our App who are bound by contractual or other obligations to use the information only for such purpose and to keep the information confidential.
  • If we are required to do so by law or legal process, such as to comply with any court order or subpoena or to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • To law enforcement agencies or for an investigation related to public safety.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Non-Profit, our customers or others, including to:
  • protect the safety of a child;
  • protect the safety and security of the App; or
  • enable us to take precautions against liability.
In addition, if the Non-Profit is involved in a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Non-Profit’s assets, we may transfer the personal information we have collected or maintain to the successor. Accessing and Correcting Your Child’s Personal Information At any time, you may review the child’s personal information maintained by us, require us to correct or delete the personal information, and/or refuse to permit us from further collecting or using the child’s information. You can review, change, or delete your child’s personal information by:
  • Logging into your child’s account and visiting his or her account profile page.
  • Sending us an email at info@joyridecars.org. To protect your privacy and security, we may require you to take certain steps or provide additional information to verify your identity before we provide any information or make corrections.
  Donor Privacy Policy The Non-Profit is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors and the personal information you may share with the Non-Profit or that the Non-Profit holds. The Non-Profit values our donors’ trust and recognizes that maintaining this trust requires the charity to be transparent and accountable to our supporters and the public at all times. This section describes the information collected about our donors and the Non-Profit’s practices for using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.   Information Collected and Maintained The Non-Profit collects and maintains personal information that you, our donors, provide to us when you:
  • Contact us by phone, mail, or email, in person, or via our website or App.
  • Register for an event.
  • Make a contribution, either on our website or App, at a special event, over the phone, or by mailing in a check.
  • Navigate through our website or App.
From time to time, we may collect personal information from you in ways not described above, subject to your express approval.   Types of Information The Non-Profit collects and maintains the following types of information about our donors:
  • Personal information, including:
    • Contact information, such as name, address, email, and telephone number.
    • Giving information, including types and amounts of donations and credit card information. We utilize secure transaction methods when collecting credit card information over the internet. The Non-Profit does not disclose credit card account information provided by our donors, except for the proper processing of donations.
    • Information on events attended and publications received.
    • Any other information provided by the donor to the Non-Profit, such as public comments or posts on the Non-Profit’s website.
  • Non-personal information that does not personally identify you, including information that is anonymized, aggregated, or publicly available when not combined with non-publicly available information about you.
  • Information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including information automatically collected through technical methods such as:
    • Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our website or App.
    • Flash Cookies. Certain features of our website or App may use local stored objects to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on our website or App. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies.
    • Web Beacons. Pages of our website and App may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Non-Profit, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
    Confidentiality All information about any financial and non-financial transactions between you and the Non-Profit is considered highly confidential and we employ appropriate security measures designed to protect it. While the information is kept confidential, it is shared with the Non-Profit’s board members, staff, volunteers, and professionals and with any of the Non-Profit’s parent organizations or subsidiaries on a need-to-know basis and in compliance with all laws, regulations, court orders, or other governmental requests.
  • Use of Personal Information. The Non-Profit collects and maintains personal information to:
    • Establish a relationship and communicate with you about the Non-Profit, including our programs, special events, and funding needs.
    • Learn about our donors and what matters to you.
    • Process donations and event registrations and issue tax receipts.
    • Comply with all laws and regulations, including reporting requirements.
    • Plan future fundraising activities and events.
    • Analyze giving patterns.
    • Solicit feedback from you by conducting surveys.
The Non-Profit uses industry standard safeguards to protect your personal information against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of your personal information. The Non-Profit will not share, sell, or exchange your personal information with any other entity for third-party fundraising or marketing purposes, except as provided in this section or as expressly consented to by you/except with charitable organizations that the Non-Profit believes engage in activities consistent with the mission and beliefs of the Non-Profit. To the extent that a third-party service provider is used to process any donations, the provider is bound by strict confidentiality rules, and your information will only be used to the extent necessary to process the donation. Communications The Non-Profit will from time to time communicate with you, including by telephone, text, email, and mail, concerning the Non-Profit’s charitable activities, events, and requests for future support. The Non-Profit will not call or email you or send mailings to you on behalf of other organizations without your express consent. To opt out of receiving these communications, you may contact the Non-Profit.   Records Retention and Destruction The Non-Profit complies with all Internal Revenue Service, state, and local regulations and the Non-Profit’s internal policies governing the retention, management, and destruction of donor information collected and maintained by the Non-Profit. Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information You can review and request changes to the personal information that the Non-Profit has collected about you by contacting the Non-Profit. However, please be aware that the Non-Profit may not accommodate a change request that would impact record retention or other operational requirements like remembering email opt-out preferences, violate any law or legal requirement, or cause the information to be incorrect. Deleting your personal information may also require deleting your user account (if any). California residents may have additional personal information rights and choices. Please see “Your California Privacy Rights.” Donor Bill of Rights The Non-Profit subscribes to the Donor Bill of Rights as created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Associations for Healthcare Philanthropy, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the Giving Institute. A copy of the Donor Bill of Rights may be downloaded from the Non-Profit’s website or you may contact the Non-Profit. Changes to Our Privacy Policy We may update our privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ personal information, we will post the new privacy policy on this page and notify you by an in-App alert the first time you use the App after we make the change or notify you by email with the email address you have provided. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you and for periodically visiting this privacy policy to check for any changes.
